About
Hi, I'm a mum, and I'm anxious AF about the future.
Bit of a bold intro, eh?
But with the world our kids are inheriting, I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling anxious and apprehensive.
What calms me a little is staying informed. Knowing what's going on helps me focus my energy on what I can control.
So, I keep up with the news shaping our kids' world – whether it's school stuff, climate change, or tech – and share it all in one place for you.
It's not all doom and gloom, though!
I try to keep things light and focus on what we can do as parents to stay connected and support each other.
You can expect:
- A mix of news from a range of sources (think podcasts, articles, and videos)
- Candid hot takes and real talk on what's affecting our kids
- Tips for staying in the loop with your school-aged kids, from tech trends to the latest slang
- Interviews with kids, teachers, and parents
- Actionable ideas and light-hearted thoughts to help you stay connected, without the overwhelm
You won't get:
- Political commentary or heavy-handed opinions
- An overload of bad news without any balance – there's plenty of good stuff too!
A bit about me
I'm Jess, a freelance writer and a mum of two. I started Keep Up With The Kids because I felt disconnected to what my children were learning about at school. This quickly blossomed into a wider yearning to understand more about the issues shaping their lives. I enjoy putting this labour of love together – I hope you get something from it, too!
